The Sundays

The people at The Sundays and Catseye Pool Club made our stay unforgettable. Thank you to the whole team. From the smooth airport pickup to the warm welcome at reception, everything felt thoughtfully arranged. Our room was beautifully styled, with a lovely sea view from the balcony. The food, private pool, and daily ice cream made it even more special. I’m already looking forward to coming back.

The front-of-house staff at CPC were the highlight for us. Their wonderful service made us and our little boy feel so welcome, and made the holiday extra special. The breakfast was to die for too. It’s such a lovely family place, with gorgeous facilities, beautiful rooms, and a stunning pool that’s child friendly. Thanks, Sundays team, for a memorable stay. We can’t wait to return.

When I got badly sick with seasickness and vertigo after we came back from the Reef, the front desk checked how I was doing and asked if they could help. I went to the Medical Centre the next day, and they phoned to see if I was feeling better. When I was still unwell, they offered to bring fresh water there and told us to call if we needed anything. Back at the accommodation, they happily took us by buggy to the pharmacy and made sure I had what I needed. Because I was sick, we cancelled our two nights in Airlie, which involved a ferry and a pre-booked Fishing Charter. It was a stressful, uncertain time, and the team did everything they could to find us somewhere to stay. We managed to stay with them on Thursday night, then moved to another island hotel on Friday. It’s meant to be a nice hotel, but it didn’t compare with the care we’d had at The Sundays. We’d originally booked May 9 to 11, then again May 12 to 14, with a night on the Reef in between. The Sundays kindly stored our larger bags in their back storage area and had them ready in our room when we checked back in. The Reef Sleep was a birthday surprise for my partner, and the team worked hard to keep it secret. One front desk staff member even rushed over to the person taking us to the Marina to tell him not to mention it yet. From start to finish, the service was incredible. We arrived to a cold washer after our flight, and the team collected our bags and brought them straight to the room. A staff member showed us around, explained which minibar items were complimentary and which cost extra, and the complimentary selection was one of the best we’ve had. The room was just as pictured online, cosy and comfortable, a lovely place to relax and reconnect. The team remembered it was my partner’s birthday, and Terrance left a handwritten card and a cupcake each for us in the room. That personal touch really made us feel cared for.

Rachel made our stay at The Sundays feel special from the moment she greeted us at the airport with cold towels and a genuine welcome. She kept anticipating what we needed and went out of her way to help. When the restaurant had stopped taking food orders, she arranged room service for us so we wouldn’t go without. We also loved the New Year’s treats, which made the celebration feel festive and personal, and seeing wallabies around the property was a uniquely Australian kind of magic. The resort was already beautiful, but Rachel’s kindness and attentive care made the whole experience memorable. An easy five stars for the hospitality.
