Little Auberge

We stayed in the studio, close to Hepburn Main street, and would happily return. The huge spa easily fits two, and the bed was comfortable with great bedding for the cool evenings. It had everything you could need for a couple’s weekend, and the owner was attentive and quick to respond to our questions.

The kitchen is very well equipped, and there are great verandah areas and living spaces with lovely sun exposure. It’s a comfortable, sprawling old home, well set up for large groups visiting the region. I was a little disappointed there was no firewood to burn, and that we were told to buy it from BP. That’s a very expensive way to get firewood for the open fireplaces.

We were six and found the place spacious, with an excellent fitout. It’s a great base for exploring the area, with amazing food, drink and spa options close by. Our only negative was the wooden chairs in the main living area. They were flimsy, mostly broken, kept falling apart and had loose nails that could catch clothes. It’s a very minor complaint and will no doubt be fixed soon.
