Staff greeted us warmly, and we got a clean, comfortable ground floor room with great marina views. I’d emailed asking for a room away from the lifts, but ours was directly opposite one. Luckily, the lift in this six storey building has apparently been broken for quite some time. The pool fence was also an issue, since guests have to walk all the way around the building to reach the pool right in front of the lobby. Unfortunately, other guests were smoking on the balcony above us and on the deck next door.
The marina views are a real highlight, especially from the balconies overlooking the boats and water. Watching the masts at sunset made it lovely just to sit outside. Mantra Hervey Bay is right by Urangan Marina, away from traffic and crowds, with the calm waters adding to the peaceful feel. The whole property felt immaculate and fresh. Rooms and apartments were tidy, modern, and well kept, and the corridors and pool areas seemed well maintained too. It made the stay comfortable and stress free. With the quiet waterfront setting, clean smelling rooms, and relaxed resort facilities, it’s a great place to unwind. I’d look forward to coming back and would recommend it.
The staff were lovely, and we had a beautiful marina view. We chose this spot because it’s quieter than the Esplanade hotels, with no constant traffic going past. If you don’t know Hervey Bay, the marina is off to the side rather than in town. There’s a good green space when travelling with an assistance dog, though I struggled with the heavy doors.
We had a lovely room with a great view and easy access to the pool. The boat club and various restaurants are within an easy walk. The lifts weren’t working, which was the one drawback, but staff made sure we weren’t put too high up, so we only had two flights of stairs.
The marina setting is a real plus, with places to eat downstairs and the local boat club an easy walk away for entertainment. From level 5, we had a lovely view over the pool and marina. The pool itself was nice, and rooms with direct balcony access to it must have been a selling point years ago. There were plenty of stocked hand sanitiser stations, too. Inside, though, the room felt dated, with old furniture, and the balcony was dirty. The bathroom had no ventilation, so even a short hot shower left the mirrors fogged and water dripping down the walls. Signs warning that steam could set off the fire alarms weren't reassuring, and keeping the bathroom door shut until the steam cleared meant getting ready using the bedroom mirror. The small downstairs gym is a glass room where you might sweat alongside strangers, assuming it's open and you can get in. Check-in wasn't very welcoming, perhaps because we hadn't booked directly, and it was hard to find both our room and the most convenient parking for it. If you want somewhere inexpensive by the marina, close to the boat club and with a nice view, it may suit. I'd like to see the place renovated so it can reach its potential.
