Lisianna Apartments

We had a lovely view and the beach was right across the road. The apartment was roomy and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed. It’s been renovated nicely and is close to everything. We’d definitely come back.

Leaving was hard, especially when the sun came out and gave me a lovely sunrise on my last day. The apartment felt like a proper holiday home, with plenty of room and all the facilities I needed. Mine had two bedrooms and was spotless, newly renovated with a great beach feel. Steve and Sharon were kind, helpful hosts. I liked the sustainable choices in the renovation, including keeping the super shiny sink. The bathroom worked well for my joint issues, and there was a non-slip bath mat in the cupboard. A beautiful barn door lets you reach the shower, washbasin, and loo at the same time. It’s on the Esplanade, with the beach directly across the road. I’m looking forward to staying again.

The owners were very welcoming when we arrived, but for the same price we paid last year for a larger, better equipped place with a dishwasher and washer and dryer, this unit felt overpriced. The communal laundry appliances also need upgrading. We stayed 10 days, and there were no spare linens or towels. Our linen, towels, tea towel, and dish cloth weren’t laundered during the stay. The unit seems only partly renovated, though the work done is nice. The kitchen still has an old stove and sink, no exhaust fan, and the utensils, electric fry pan, and toaster need replacing. There were no oven gloves. The bathroom also has no exhaust fan. The old air conditioner didn’t cool the unit adequately, and we couldn’t adjust the temperature. We found small ants in the cupboard, on the bench, and on the table, so pest control is needed. During a storm, wind driven rain came under the door and left a big puddle on the kitchen floor. The glass sliding door to the little balcony could lock us out if shut tightly from outside. Luckily we discovered that while someone was still inside to unlock it.

We had a great stay with our family of four. The room was just right, and the owners kindly moved the beds to make room for our travel cots. Everything we needed was there, and the price for a two bedroom apartment was good. It’s right on the beachfront, with cafes and playgrounds an easy walk with the kids, plus plenty of restaurants nearby. The owners are lovely. We’d come back.
