Our plans were cut short by Cyclone Alfred, but Scott and his team handled things politely and professionally. We had a good experience with Scott and the Freshwater BnB team, who upgraded us to their sister property, 549 Apartments, right on the Esplanade in Hervey Bay. I'd happily stay with them again.

We did eventually receive a refund, but I wouldn't trust them to keep a booking. Five minutes before check-in, they messaged to say the room wasn't ready. I replied that this was disappointing, and the next minute he called and basically said he was cancelling our booking. We were waiting outside after an overnight flight and just wanted to rest. It was a busy time to find somewhere else to stay. The booking follow-up diatribe talks about “Karens”; perhaps that's related to how poorly he handles people.

Walking through the front gate felt like arriving somewhere made for a holiday, with beautiful gardens. The breakfast was amazing, especially the freshly home baked bread, and my wife loved the kitchen setup and Hampton style table. Scott, thank you for letting us stay in your home. Freshwater was next level for us, with friendliness, cleanliness, privacy and accommodation well above what we usually find on our frequent business trips. Scott & Kristy will be back on our next trip to Harvey Bay.

The location was terrific, just a walk down to restaurants and the beach, and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a luxury stay in Hervey Bay. We spent two nights at freshwater b&b. Scott was a friendly, helpful host, and check-in was very easy. Our room was spotless and tidy. The firm mattress was really good to sleep on, and the sheets were amazingly clean. We'll definitely stay again next time.

Scott makes you feel like a very special guest, and his attention to the little comforts made this a special stay. The location is fabulous and quiet, just moments from the beach. From the home baked bread to the lovely towels and linens, it was an amazing place to stay.
