For a hostel budget, this place is amazing, and I left pretty happy, though I might choose somewhere else next time if money isn’t tight. The location is superb, staff are really friendly and helpful, the kitchen came in handy, and it was quieter than many party hostels. Free luggage drop-off was convenient too. My main issue was the bed: even if it had been cleaned, the blanket looked used, and it wasn’t the cleanest bed I’ve had in a hostel. My room also faced a Main Street with traffic all day and night.

The kind staff were a big reason I was glad I chose this hostel. There’s a small kitchen with enough space for everyone, plus things like free pizza night, a platypus tour, and a pub crawl. I stayed in private rooms with a shower and toilet, which I especially liked. I booked nights before and after my Under Down Under tour in Tasmania, and spent several nights here during it too. A couple of practical things: there’s no elevator, so heavy luggage is hard to get upstairs, though the staff can help find a solution. Only one dryer was working during my stay, which matters if you need to do laundry. My last room had a sewage or mold smell, so it’s worth checking the private room. Otherwise, my stay was fine.

Great location, especially without a car, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The rooms are below basic, though, and get very warm even when the weather is comfortable.

Always clean, modern, and in a great spot. The staff were friendly, and Jackson and Dean were especially helpful. They made things easy, including helping with a booking I couldn’t take. A great option for travelers.
