Hadley's Orient Hotel

The setting was the highlight: beautiful, elegant, and refined. The food tower looked impressive, and there was a wonderful range of teas. The game made the experience more engaging, too. I wholeheartedly recommend booking the Murder Mystery high tea. The waitstaff were exceptional, very accommodating and gracious, and shared some of the hotel’s history.

A really central location, with handy parking for $20 a day if you’re driving. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are old, but have character and some old-school charm. There are good spaces for breakfast meetings and work catch-ups, plus a bar with happy hour, always a win. A solid stay if you like history and a good location.

We arrived before the room was ready, so the staff kept our bags and brought them up once we could check in. They’d also left a little old-fashioned newspaper and an audio tour with stories about the hotel on the bed, along with personalised letters and envelopes for the guest who booked. The place is beautiful, and everyone was so kind. Ash was especially lovely at the desk each day, remembering where we’d been and asking about it when we came back. Such a charming stay, definitely worth it.

The room had a fantastic shower, with strong pressure and plenty of hot water. I also liked the complimentary newspaper about the place. The Saturday 5pm singing pianist was wonderful, and the decor has so much detail I could’ve spent hours looking around. This hotel is just beautiful, full of character and history, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The uneven floor bounced a bit underfoot, but I found it charming. The cocktails at the bar weren’t good, and neither was breakfast.
