John was so kind, chatty, and friendly. His warm hospitality made a real difference, especially as it was our first time visiting the city. We booked a Queen Suite through Agoda and stayed in Room 4 on the second floor. The room's window is right by the street, but the noise was manageable and we slept well. A fan kept it breezy and comfortable on a warm January night. It isn't an ensuite room, but the shared bathroom setup worked very well. Our floor had one toilet, one shower, and one combined shower/bathroom, and we never had to wait. The room was comfortable and equipped with a queen bed, bar fridge, and smart TV, just right for a one-night stay. The shared kitchen had a simple buffet-style breakfast with tea and coffee, fruit, and biscuits. Lovely stay and excellent value for the price.

If there's availability, go ahead and book. John was a wonderful host, and the rooms had a unique antique feel. Anyone who likes antique collections and a bit of history should enjoy staying here. We'll definitely come back. Thanks for your hospitality, John.

We stayed for three nights, went off to do 3 Capes Hike, then came back for another four. The room was lovely, with two single beds, electric blankets, and a bathroom. John was helpful and lovely, including with advice on things to see and do. I also enjoyed meeting other travellers. The B&B was very clean and tidy. I loved the kitchen, where we could help ourselves to hot drinks anytime, as well as fruit and biscuits. Breakfast was self-serve too, with cereals, toast, and delicious Tasmanian jams. My friend and I really enjoyed our stay, and I'd most definitely come back.

The host was friendly, but the stay had several problems. The building looked worn and old, and needed repairs. The sheets were faded and worn, which made them uncomfortable. Since it was right beside a four-way intersection, traffic was incredibly loud, and wind rattling the windows kept me awake.

John was a great host, and we really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were comfortable, and the B & B was close enough to everywhere. If you like historic accommodation, you'll love this place. The only downside for us was having no laundry access. There are public laundries, but without a car they were too far for us to carry our clothes. I'd stay here again.
