I needed a final night somewhere and stumbled on this little gem. The vaulted ceilings, good location, and reasonably priced continental breakfast were all welcome. Parking might have been tricky, so I returned my hire car 12 hours early. Light sleepers may also notice the road noise.

The location is extremely handy, with plenty within walking distance, and the staff were attentive and great. Breakfast was a hit too. Really enjoyed the stay and will come back next time.

Breakfast had lots of choice and was excellent, and the front desk staff were so kind and helpful. My room had everything I needed, including a shower that stayed perfectly warm. The decor throughout is both cosy and elegant, and I found the room very comfortable for my one night. The extra parking charge is $25. You might get lucky with free street parking overnight, but remember to move the car or pay by 8:30 AM. I'd happily stay again.

The staff were genuinely welcoming and ready to help, and they made us feel at home. Although The Macquarie Hobart is just off a busy street, it was remarkably quiet, almost as if we had the place to ourselves. We slept well in the comfortable beds, and the bathroom was clean and seemed recently updated. It's an older building, so not every detail is flawless, but that character is part of its appeal. We had a peaceful, charming stay and thought it was excellent value. Would return.

For the price, the room was great, clean, and had lovely hot showers. Shaila is a superstar. I'd recommend it.
