The staff were flexible with requests, check-in and checkout were quick, and daily housekeeping was available on request. There were plenty of power outlets, comfortable beds, and breakfast was very reasonable. The bar had a decent range of drinks for a relatively small city, and the bar hours were good. Andrea, Marilyn and Melanie from the kitchen/restaurant, Yogesh and Ella at the bar, and Kat at the front desk all went above and beyond and made my stay special. I'm sure they made other guests feel special too. The hotel is lucky to have them. I did find a couple of pieces of plastic on the floor when I arrived, although the rest of the room was fairly clean. Rooms are somewhat smaller than at other DoubleTree hotels with comparable or lower rates, but the location is favorable.

The hotel is a relaxed 15-minute stroll from the city centre. We had a great family stay in early January and would definitely return. Kat at reception was especially lovely and helpful, check-in was seamless, and the signature warm cookies on arrival were a delightful touch. The staff deserve credit for their work. We were upgraded to Level 7 for a lovely view. The rooms are a little smaller than average, but exceptionally clean and serviced daily. The beds and quality linen were comfortable, and the in-room coffee machine was a bonus. We enjoyed the heated indoor pool and free sauna. At Leatherwood on our first night, the meals were reasonable and the bar had a good choice of wines, gins, and cocktails. The daily bottled water was appreciated, as was the late checkout to fit our flights home. Breakfast was good for a short stay, but the buffet gets repetitive. More variety, especially an alternative to pork sausages for people with dietary preferences, would help. A pull-out clothesline in the shower would also be useful for drying swimwear. One personal highlight was the bathrobe. I'm shorter and usually drown in one-size-fits-all robes, but this one fit perfectly.

We stayed four nights in mid-January and found the hotel's location very convenient for Hobart's boutiques and main attractions. Dinner at Leatherwood Restaurant was a highlight, with beautifully prepared food and attentive, professional service. The fitness centre had thoughtful equipment for light training, and my partner particularly enjoyed relaxing in the pool at the end of the day. Our room was impeccably maintained and serviced, which made it feel comfortable and easy to settle in. We both thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would confidently recommend this hotel to travellers looking for comfort, convenience, and attentive hospitality in Hobart.

We stayed for six days and five nights, and ended up extending the last night after our flight was cancelled. The front desk quickly arranged another room and moved our things again, just as smoothly as they had during our earlier room change. Kat, Charles, Madhu, Devishka, and Shivani were absolute angels. When we returned from a full day on tour, our belongings had already been moved and the new room was ready. We paid a couple $$ to switch on the second night because our first room faced the adjacent hotel's rooms and didn't have a nice view. The mountain view from the new room was unbelievable, but it was too small and had no sofa, while the original room was quite a bit bigger and had one. You win some, you lose some :-) I just wish the rooms were a little larger. The rooms, beds, linens, towels, bathrooms, and swimming pool were all clean, which was a huge win for us. Brekky gets a 9/10 from me. After a couple of days, the similar dishes each morning took away some of the yum, though for a shorter stay I'd say it was wonderful. Overall, I'm happy with the staff and cleanliness of DoubleTree Hilton Hobart.
