Vibe Hotel Hobart

My room, 804, was comfortable, with a good bed and great pillows, and there were nice things in the mini bar. Staff service was prompt, cheerful and efficient. The harbour is only a short walk away, and I stayed in October 2025. Breakfast was the weak point for me. It was hard to find smaller options: I ordered toast and jam and got three huge slices. Scrambled egg with one toast the next day was a bit better, but the sourdough was tough, with a crust I could hardly cut and soft, spongey bread inside. Smaller choices would help. One odd thing, the aircon only worked when the bathroom light was on, so perhaps the wiring in my room needs attention. Otherwise, a decent comfortable hotel.

The breakfast staff were absolutely fantastic, and the cleaners were great, though it seemed they didn't have enough time to clean rooms. The room itself was nice but badly set up. We had twin share with small singles, and the bathroom was pathetic for shaving or putting on makeup. No robes for the pool, no slippers to get there, and no complimentary water. We stayed over Christmas and won't do that again. My first impression was hopeless, and two days later it still felt that way, though there were glimpses of excellence. At 9pm I went for a cocktail and was told the bar was closed, despite advertising hours of 9.30 to 10. I called housekeeping to collect the previous day's rubbish and got no answer, then tried reception with the same result. I had to take the lift down myself to ask for it to be collected. I didn't come for hassle and discomfort, and I won't return.

Sahan was a great help with parking advice and suggestions for where to eat. Our room was quiet and comfortable, and we really enjoyed breakfast. The hotel was struggling with its second elevator out of service, which was inconvenient for everyone, but the staff were doing their best. We had a lovely stay at Vibe.

Making the booking over the phone was a mess. Even after I spelled my name six times, reservations couldn't get it right. When I called to find the confirmation email, they said there was no booking. I spelled it out another six times and still nothing. After being put on hold, I had to repeat it again before someone who listened carefully and spoke clearly finally found my booking. Excellent service!!!
