Crowne Plaza Hobart by IHG

The street noise was the main downside for me. Sound carries up from below, the insulation isn’t great, and the building occasionally creaks, so light sleepers may want ear plugs. Still, I’d recommend The Crowne Plaza Hobart for its modern luxury and central location. It’s right in the city’s shopping district, with stores, cafes and restaurants just steps away. The entrance off Liverpool St is understated but clearly signposted, and a short elevator ride takes you to reception on level 4. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room had a modern, practical design, cool, comforting colours and expansive views over suburban Hobart and the rolling hills.

We spent a week at Crowne Hobart and had an amazing experience. Everyone was extremely friendly and polite. Our standard king room was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the beds were very comfy. We had a lovely harbour side view as a bonus. The buffet breakfast had a fabulous, delicious selection, though expect a wait for a cappuccino from the bar, as breakfast coffees get popular and busy. Valet parking is available, but ask for your car around 30 minutes ahead. We got a flat tyre during our stay, and they need that time to walk up to the carpark, which is a block or so away uphill. We’ll always remember our stay at Crowne Hobart. Thank you.

The location made it easy to get around, with Salamanca and Constitution Dock about a 10-minute walk away. We stayed from 25 Dec 25 to 5 Jan 26, and the hotel was a lovely place for my fiancée to rest after completing the 80th Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race in very challenging conditions. The room was clean and felt luxurious, with thoughtful details. They left complimentary fruit on the first day, then a small bottle of wine and chocolates for New Year's Eve. We also appreciated the late checkout and enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Staff across concierge, reception, dining, and housekeeping were exceptionally friendly. Reception especially helped us sort out problems and requests. A wonderful stay. JP

I was frustrated after calling reception many times about parking and getting no answer. In the end, Aya did her best to help me, and the whole situation turned out very well. Without her help I would have been extremely disappointed with the hotel. I found the hotel itself to be in good condition. The valet information could be clearer. Thanks again to Aya.
