Lily at reception made check-in and check-out so easy, and she was incredibly helpful. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. The rooms are lovely and the scenery is beautiful, too. My friend suggested staying here and I’m so glad they did. Definitely a 10/10 for me, and I’d happily come back. Thanks, Lily and everyone else!

The pool incident was concerning: two families had a loud domestic dispute, and staff didn’t step in or even acknowledge it. I also found the food overpriced and more like service-station quality. The most uncomfortable part was a staff member following me back to my cabin in a ute to lecture me about my driving speed. I acknowledged it and apologised, but he kept going, then sat outside my cabin staring in for several minutes before driving away. It felt intimidating and made me feel unsafe. The booking and deposit problems added to an already stressful stay. I’d arranged the booking with the manager on 7th January 2026, after winning a family room in a raffle, but arrived to find there was no booking. They were able to find me a cabin near bushland. At check-in I was asked for an unexpected $100 deposit. I said I hadn’t budgeted for it and was experiencing financial hardship. The receptionist promised it would be released right after checkout. I checked out on Monday, and by Wednesday, after I followed up, I was told the refund had “bounced back” and nobody had followed up. The same staff member then manually refunded the same card, which made the explanation, or lie, seem even less convincing. Whatever my financial situation, the mistake shouldn’t have happened and someone should have followed it up properly. I can’t recommend Free Spirit Resort. Winning a raffle voucher isn’t worth this much stress and unprofessional treatment. I’d give it away or throw it in the bin.

The pool and gardens were in great shape, and everything was clean and tidy. My room had everything I needed, and the resort was amazing. Nat at reception helped me check in, Gina and the bar and bistro team were great, and Mark from security and after-hours support was fantastic. When my elderly friend got locked out of her room, she was helped promptly and offered water while she waited, only about 5 minutes. It’s a very affordable family holiday, and I’ll definitely be back.

We held a function here recently and it went beyond what we expected. The staff were lovely, helpful, and easy to work with. I’d definitely hold another function here.
