Majestic Motel

After a long day’s drive, the pool was great. The bed was comfortable, and the shower had great pressure and hot water.

The bathroom was old and dirty, and the room wasn’t made up professionally. Once we saw it, I decided to leave. It wasn’t as described on booking .Com, and in my opinion it wasn’t up to standard. I couldn’t stay a second night, so I asked to cancel it. He just said no and didn’t even want to know why.

My partner and I stayed here on our way from Adelaide to Melbourne. As we were leaving, we saw the cleaners tidying a bed from a room someone had used, and they DID NOT change the sheets, only the pillowcases. That’s disgusting!

The receptionist was lovely and very accommodating, and there was plenty of off-road parking. We chose the motel because it advertised a restaurant, but apparently it closed some years ago. The room did what we needed for a shower and a bed for the night. It was basically clean, with crisp sheets and clean carpet, but tired and outdated. The setup was odd: fridge in one spot, kettle and toaster elsewhere, microwave on a sagging bench, plus another microwave in a cupboard. Cords from the fridge and TV were exposed across the walls, and only one of the three bedroom lights worked. The bathroom door wouldn’t close and was grubby and damaged; it and the bathroom needed a proper clean and paint. Outside, the building and grounds looked sad and dull, with broken brick piers that needed repair.
