Huskisson Hotel

The location is fabulous, but I can’t recommend the bistro food. The Thai Beef Salad seemed to have reheated roast beef with a little chilli, cheap packet noodles, a basic mixed salad and bland dressing. A few strips of cucumber were the only thing that came close to the Thai description. My daughter’s salmon tasted as though it had been cooked on the same grill as the reheated beef. I might have complained if it hadn’t been a late lunch.

The steak sandwich and cauliflower were both tasty, and the staff were friendly with good service. The ‘lot’ burger patty was one of the worst we’ve had. I’ve given the rooms one star only because my review is about the restaurant and bar.

Both visits had a great vibe and sunny weather, and it’s a good spot for a drink with your mates. I tried the ribs one time and the chilli mussels another, and both dishes were very good. The menu has so many appealing options I struggled to pick. I’ll definitely be back.

We came for a pre-wedding dinner. The service was good and the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. My steak was a little undercooked, while my wife’s was overcooked, so we swapped. Maybe the doneness labels had been put on the wrong steaks. It wasn’t a problem. The atmosphere is what you’d expect from a pub-style restaurant, and it was very nice.
