The beach access was the biggest problem with our honeymoon stay. The listing said “direct beach access,” but erosion had closed the path from the property, so we had to use the bush track about 30 metres down the road with everyone else. It seems this had been the case for months, and we could have looked for somewhere else if we'd been told before arriving. We booked around six months ahead. I might have let the other issues slide: for about $700 a night, though, the fittings and furniture felt disappointing, from rusty Ikea side tables and a hard, uncomfortable bed to pilling “luxury” sheets and cheap cooking utensils. The Holidays Collection, the managing agents, weren't helpful when I asked about compensation.
