Clarence Head Caravan Park

We stayed three nights in a two-bedroom cabin with our small dog and two-year-old, and found it really good value, especially for the Easter holiday period. The cabin was clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. Cooking was easy, with a well-equipped kitchen in the cabin and good-quality BBQs and cooking equipment in the camp kitchen. We didn’t get to use the pool, but it looked nice. The outdoor seating between the pool and camp kitchen seemed like a good place to have a drink. It’s an easy walk to the water for a swim, as well as to a nice cafe, pub and rainforest walk. Thanks for a great stay, we’ll be back.

The birds singing in the morning make it feel like a lovely start to the day. This is a clean, fresh, old-school caravan park with new amenities, a pool, great washing machines and a camp kitchen. The management are friendly, and it’s a good base for visiting Iluka and Yamba. There’s a discount for a meal at the pub, and the courtesy bus comes from a few different venues. Taking the boat across to Yamba is a must. It’s not expensive.

My partner Jamie and I have stayed here a couple of times before, and this visit was lovely too. It’s quiet, tidy and close to everything, and the amenities were clean. We stayed five nights and would definitely recommend the park.

The small unit, no. 8, was comfortable, but its location right outside the camp toilets spoiled the stay. A strong, lingering smell came into the room, so we had to keep the window and door shut the whole time. Avoid units 7, 8 and 9.
