BIG4 Launceston Holiday Park

You can sit out on the front deck with a little table and chairs, enjoy a vino from the shop in the main office, and look over the surrounding hills. The shop also has local produce and souvenirs. The accommodation is comfortable and well equipped, laid out a bit like a bedsit: kitchen, lounge and main bed in an open plan space, plus two bunk beds tucked into a nook by the front door. Cars and trucks pass on the main highway nearby, but the double-glazed windows make for a peaceful night’s sleep.

The cabins were modern, and the kids loved the little park and jumping pillow. They also enjoyed spotting wallabies and other wildlife at night. Staff were extremely friendly and check-in was easy. The view of Launceston was lovely, though being just off the freeway means it can get noisy, with trucks audible at night. The camp kitchen is due for a much-needed upgrade. We had a great day.

We enjoyed spotting all the evening wildlife, and loved being able to use our raised fire pit. The park has lots of new, fancy cabins and villas built up the hillside. We stayed four nights in April 2026 on a powered site. Staff were nice and check-in was easy. A new camp kitchen is being built, and it’s definitely needed. The park is right next to the freeway and was quite noisy. Asking for a site farther from the freeway end should help.

The bouncy pillow was a great way for the kids to unwind after a day exploring Launceston, and there were plenty of activities within walking distance. On arrival, the staff gave us helpful handouts about places to visit and eat. Our room was exactly as advertised, clean and bright, with enough space, and we were warm and comfortable. We had a wonderful stay at the Big4 Launceston and would definitely come back.
