For one night, the park was okay, and there’s a dump point just across the road. In the wet season, some of the $50 per night powered sites were boggy, but you could pick your own and plenty were still accessible. Only two toilet blocks were open instead of the usual four, and the toilets weren’t clean. There was no soap in the holders in either the men’s or women’s toilets. The pool area was nice, though you can’t bring your own drinks, even when the bar is closed. It opens at 5:30 pm. We bought two Great Northern Super Crisp beers for $8.50 each, which seemed reasonable for the location, but they smelled of mould, so we didn’t stay for dinner. The mains were around $30-$40, and the portions looked generous from what we saw. Maybe the park is cleaner in the dry season.

The pool is unusually large, with a canopy and a palm-lined area for sunbathing, a real rarity. We also ate at the poolside restaurant and the food was very good. The campground itself is spacious, with grass and some shady trees. The amenities are okay.

The food was really good and well priced, but I wouldn’t stay here again. Our one-bedroom cabin was old, tired and in need of a revamp, and extremely expensive for what we got. The website photos make it look great, but in reality it was small and cramped. The queen bed was actually a double, and there was no garden view.

The wet season was so intense that all the local attractions were closed. We had to drive over an hour to find anything open, though that wasn’t the hotel’s fault. The place itself is beautiful, with a nice pool, and the facilities were always clean. Service was very friendly and welcoming.

The location is really strategic, close to the supermarket and points of interest. The room was clean and comfortable, but not big enough to open or unpack our luggage. The refrigerator in room 54 was old and ran too cold, freezing the food and other things we put inside.
