Tasman Holiday Parks - Airlie Beach

The pool and leafy surroundings were a lovely place to unwind after a day of activities. Tasman Holiday Parks in Airlie Beach is peaceful, beautifully maintained and well placed for exploring the Whitsundays. The facilities were clean, modern and looked after, and the whole park had a relaxed holiday feel. Staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. We had a fantastic stay, it exceeded our expectations, and we’d happily return and recommend it to anyone visiting Airlie Beach.

Check-in was quick and easy, and the women at reception were so nice and helpful. They gave us a bus schedule that came in handy, since it’s a five-minute ride into town for 50 cents. We stayed on site 61 and tried an ensuite for the first time on our five-week trip, with only four days left before heading home. It was a great feature, with good water pressure and a fairly clean bathroom. The toilet seat was in a strange position, with the rim sticking out about an inch and a half beyond the seat, which was gross. We told staff, and they came straight away to fix it, thanks. I think there may also be an ant or termite mound starting on the wall above the door. The grounds seemed very untidy compared with the Big4 parks we’re used to, with leaves and dirt everywhere, and the pool was cloudy. There were three BBQs, but one by the pool was out of order, and five people were waiting to use the one available. We loved the location, but might try somewhere else if we came back.

Roomy sites with leafy privacy screens, and it’s easy to get into Airlie, just five minutes by bus or a 20-minute walk. The staff are wonderfully welcoming, love Sarah! It’s really pet-friendly too. There are regular food vans for dinner, plus a coffee van open every day from 7 to 10 am.

The kids, aged two and five, loved the pool and playground, and the daily bird feeding at 4 pm was amazing. We stayed in the glamping tents and had a great experience. They seemed fairly new, with comfy beds, a good-sized bathroom and plenty of space. The sides got a little hot during the day, but it didn’t bother us since we had the fans and air con running and weren’t spending time there then.
