Kalbarri Reef Villas

The barbecue area was a real highlight, with a proper good quality BBQ. The place was comfortable and the rooms quite spacious, but there was plenty of sand inside and heaps of mozzies around. We were in Unit 8, where one bedroom mosquito net had a tear at the bottom, so they got in easily. The lighting was a bit dark and could use an upgrade, and a bigger TV would be great. Even a decent second-hand 40" wouldn't cost much these days. The kitchen was good overall, though the utensils could be better, and the towels could smell fresher. It's alright if you're looking for somewhere cheap, but I'm not sure I'd stay again. Personally, I'd look elsewhere next time.

I loved spending the week here and would happily come back. The villas are just minutes from the beach and shops, and feel like really good value. The buildings are older, but they're kept clean and in good shape, with a well equipped kitchen, modern appliances, air conditioning, and comfortable beds and living room furniture. The gardens are lush and full of birds. Having breakfast on the shaded balcony each morning with the birdsong was lovely. Honor was accommodating and professional throughout.

The location was great, but the apartment was extremely basic. There were vegetable scraps left in the kitchen and food packets in the second bedroom, and some of the lights didn't work. The kitchen window had no blind, even though it faces the main walkway to the apartments and pool, which is also the route between the bathroom and upstairs. For families with children, there was rat bait under the kitchen sink and no child safety lock or warning that it was being used.

Villa 3 felt homely and was lovely and clean, with plenty of room and everything we needed besides our clothes and food. The small touches, like the games, were great. There’s a pool at one end of the complex and a good BBQ area at the other, plus a beautiful Bali style hut to sit under. We were close to everything. A small Kalbarri map and a list of places to eat or things to do would have been useful.
