Echo Point Motor Innmotel

The location was good, but the room I received was nothing like the recently renovated king room in the photos. I’d booked a king and was given a queen. Staff were polite, but said they’d usually offer to move me and were fully booked. They didn’t explain further or suggest a solution. The queen room was small and dated, with a prison style shower, a cheap curtain mouldy at the bottom, fraying stained carpet, and a sunken couch. I wouldn’t have booked if I’d seen photos of that room. I emailed my booking details as requested so it could be looked into, but got no reply. They brushed it off as Expedia’s fault, even though I booked through Trip.com, and quickly told me, “they’re all the same company.”

The room was alright, though the decor could use an update. There were no plates, bowls, or cutlery, just two teaspoons, mugs, and glasses. The shower was good, and the linen and towels were lovely and fresh. It’s a fantastic base for visiting the Three Sisters, Wentworth Falls, Rhodendram Gardens, and other sights.

Only a 250 metre walk from Echo Point Lookout, with clean rooms and an easy lock box check in. It’s nothing fancy, but the price was good and the location quiet. We were very happy with our comfortable, clean stay.

The owner said publicly that a full refund had been requested through Booking.com, but it’s now been over two weeks and I’ve received neither the money nor confirmation it’s being processed. Disappointing to hear one thing in public and have something different happen privately. I paid $150 during a heatwave, and the air conditioning cut out every hour through the night. The room got unbearably hot, I couldn’t sleep, and the bed was extremely uncomfortable too. It ruined the stay. When I complained, I got a generic copy paste apology and was told there could be no compensation. There was no accountability or attempt to fix it, just excuses. Basic comfort shouldn’t be optional in summer. I wouldn’t stay again or recommend it.
