Dulkara Holiday Units

For the price, I expected at least a clean room, and the amenities could use an update. The building is old, but that doesn't excuse what we found. Thick dust covered the light fittings above the bed, and there were ring marks on the kitchen counters that we had to clean. Both the lounge and bedroom curtains were mouldy. The shower curtain was so mouldy we had to remove it before showering. On arrival, rusting trolleys were left in the walkways, and my son found women's underwear behind a bedroom door, so it seemed the rooms hadn't been cleaned properly. Great location, but the apartment itself was filthy. Very disappointing.

After a 14 hour drive, we arrived to a filthy apartment with no air conditioning. It clearly hadn't been cleaned. There were pubic hairs on the bathroom walls and toilet seat, food splattered through the microwave, and the table and kitchen were dirty. The window sills were thick with dust and fluff, right beside where my asthmatic children were expected to sleep. And we're expected to leave the place clean? So, so disappointed.

A lovely place, decorated with a beach theme to feel just like home, and a beautiful water view from the balcony. The manager, Bill, was very nice. We'll be back.

The location alone earns Dulkara three stars from me. The units are showing their age, and most are managed by the couple who live there. I've always enjoyed my stays.
