We arrived at 5 while driving through, before dinner service began at 6, and they kindly let us order early so our meals could be ready as soon as possible. The staff were accommodating and wonderful with our children, and there’s a kids menu. It’s a great Irish pub with lovely service.

The atmosphere was terrific, especially with the local music festival on. Lunch was absolutely delicious: we tried the fish and chips, parmi, pork ribs, Irish stew, and grilled salmon, and every dish was wonderful. Definitely recommend stopping in for some historic Irish charm.

We came in for a quick drink, but stayed on for lunch and a tour of the stunning old pub. The food had plenty of choice, and both the staff and locals were really friendly. A great stop.

The food is ordinary at best, the beer is stale, and most of the staff are rude. To me, the pub feels dated and much overrated for what it is. The people running it still seem to be leeching off the legacy of a deceased past publican. If you’re visiting the area, the Kirkstall pub just out of town is much nicer and more homely.
