Southport Tourist Park

The cabin was well maintained, and the place was quiet and friendly. Staff were awesome and it’s in a good location. I highly recommend it and will stay again.

The park looked dilapidated, with building materials lying on the ground and rubbish around, and the motel photos seemed outdated and unlike its current state. The rooms looked old, dirty and unkept, the appliances were outdated, and we were told the AC didn’t work properly. Parking was tiny for most cars. Staff were pleasant, but had limited English and argued with each other in front of customers, which was confronting and confusing. The park urgently needs an upgrade, and over $800 for a week was exorbitant. My parents, who I booked for, had a medical emergency on check-in day and my dad was rushed to Brisbane. They offered no refund, only a credit that will never be used.

The pool was out of service, and there’s no WiFi. Our cabin room wasn’t clean, with mouse and cocky droppings all over it. The manager was a rude old lady, though the cleaning lady was lovely.

The service was great, and the owner is really nice, though really old. In cottage 1, the room right next to the bathroom has an old bunk bed and double bed. Don’t turn the fan up to level three, the lights go with the blades.
