We found the cabin clean, and the beds were comfortable. The Grampians location was phenomenal for hiking and bouldering, and the authentic log cabin feel, fire pit and fireplace made it special. Leanne, the new manager of the grounds, was friendly and helpful. My daughter had a lovely time playing in the little garden, on the tyre balance beam and in the cubby house.

The area around the cabins is amazing, but paying $160 for one night here left me really unhappy. The cabin was dirty, with sand on the floor and crumbs in the bed, so we slept on our towels. Good thing we’d brought our own pillows. There was rubbish and random clothing scattered around the grounds, and bunk beds without rails seemed unsafe by Australian standards. The whole place is rundown. The caretakers are trying, but there’s a lot falling apart across such a large property, so there isn’t much they can do. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. I hate motels, but one would’ve felt like a dream in this situation. If you need to stay in this area, you’d be better off buying a tent and camping a few km's down the road in the Grampians. I also wouldn’t trust the positive reviews, since they’re written by family members of the owners, who share the same surname.

The beds and bedrooms were clean, and the area was very quiet. Communication with management was great too. But we stayed for a week and the cabin wasn’t clean. I had to wash all the dishes, clean the mouldy, grimy shower and wipe the bathroom mirror. The red couches had black arms, which made the stay really uncomfortable. The tiny oven hadn’t been cleaned, and cooking in it for a family of four would’ve been impossible. The rubbish bins weren’t collected.

We turned up at 11:30pm and discovered our cabin had been double booked, so at midnight we had to find somewhere else to stay. We came back at 7:30pm the next evening expecting the cabin to be free for our second reserved night, but it was still occupied. No one had even let us know. Maybe they should invest in a booking system?

Amazing hospitality and a great view. We had a great time at Mount Zero cabins and absolutely loved the experience. It’s a perfect getaway with family and friends, and we’ll definitely go back.
