We'd booked this place while planning to travel from Scotland to visit my unwell aunt in Wollongong. When her condition worsened, I asked the host if free cancellation might be possible, but they said no, so we kept the booking. Soon after that, the escalation in the Middle East caused our Qatar Airways flight to be cancelled, which meant we couldn't travel to Australia. I contacted the host again to explain and ask to cancel, and they declined again. We had several other stays booked around Australia through Booking.com and Airbnb. This was the only property that showed no sympathy or flexibility in the circumstances. I understand hosts have policies, but the lack of discretion in an exceptional situation was disappointing. I wouldn't book here again.

We loved the setting, with lovely plants all around and a fully enclosed veranda looking over the water. The cottage was comfortable, basic and older in style. The manager was friendly and helpful. We'd make an effort to stay here again whenever we're in Lakes Entrance.

I was put up here by RACV, and the room rates are still super cheap for the quality. The rooms were neat and well looked after, and there's a beautiful pool and a good barbecue area. My only letdown was having nowhere to store a boat trailer. I'd definitely recommend it for a weekend away or a week-long holiday.

The owners were so friendly, showed me to the room and made sure I was all set. The large, clean room with a king bed was well priced. With my allergies, it was lovely to wake up somewhere spotless and dust-free. Being right on the lake is a bonus, and I can't think of much else you'd want from a motel.

We were pleasantly surprised by this motel when we stayed in late 2011. Our room looked out over the pool and had two levels, with a separate bedroom for our daughter even though we hadn't requested one. It felt more like an apartment than a motel room, and we really enjoyed our stay.
