NRMA Eastern Beach Holiday Park

It was full every night we stayed, but the park was still quiet. There’s plenty for families, and the sites are big enough, though not especially generous. Since most cars are parked along the roadside, you’ll need to be good at reversing.

The park is easy to book, and the self check-in made getting in quick and simple. It’s close to a lovely surf beach and walking tracks, with an easy trip into town for holiday activities. The price is pretty good, and there are options for short or long stays, from cabins and vans to powered or unpowered tent sites. The well-kept grounds have roomy, thoughtfully laid out sites in a friendly family setting, and it’s dog friendly too. Facilities include a pool, camp kitchen, laundry, playground, swings, an air pillow, and daily mobile food trucks and coffee cart. The kids can ride bikes and scooters around, though be ready for them to ask for money for the claw machines. I’d love to see a games room with things like table tennis, a pool table, or other free games. At the moment there’s just a small TV room with books and drawing supplies. Have fun!

The cabin was spacious and laid out well, and the beach was nearby, but our stay was disappointing. We later realised we’d been given a different cabin from the one we booked, without anyone telling us. It wasn’t very clean: the dishes were dirty, and the oven tray was especially grubby. After scrubbing it and getting our food ready, we found the oven didn’t work, which was a real inconvenience. The short shower curtain let water spread around the toilet, so we had to use the squeegee mop to clear it away. When I told reception about the oven as we left, they just said not to worry. I also sent feedback afterward about the cabin mix-up and got no reply. We were asked to review through Boooking dot com, but our review never appeared. On our three-week road trip, most places were better maintained and cheaper. I won’t trust those reviews again.

We recently stayed in a lovely, clean dog friendly cabin at NRMA Eastern Beach, right beside the water. There’s a range of accommodation to suit most people, and the facilities were tidy and clean. The staff were welcoming, too. We’ll definitely be back for another visit soon.
