The location was excellent, and the room was clean with a nice bathroom. But the beds had no top sheets, and the continental breakfast was very poor. We had to ask for butter and milk, and it was hard to get through because the lady didn't speak English. Even showing her the empty bottle didn't get our request across. Later, we had tea in the front sitting area using the room's cups and tea bags, our own milk, and only the hot water. The lady wasn't happy and told us off for using the coffee machine, though we hadn't touched it. She tried explaining over the phone, which was very hard to follow.

The breakfast had a good range, with cereal, breads, biscuits and a small selection of fruit. The kitchenette was adequate, and we could use the breakfast kitchen's microwave and coffee machine if we wanted. It's a beautiful old building with tasteful decor, but the bed was only just sleepable. There was one lounge chair, plus a dining chair at a desk that didn't feel stable. Our room description said city views, but we were on the ground floor right by the footpath and main entrance, with no view at all. We heard people coming and going at all hours. Check-in details hadn't arrived, which seemed to be happening to other guests too. The hosts didn't speak English and used gestures to explain the door security. They also hovered silently in the hall while we sat in the shared lounge watching TV, making us feel like we were intruding on their TV time. Everything was okay, but odd.

The bathroom fan was pretty weak, so it steamed up fast. Still, it was a lovely room with super cozy beds, friendly staff and nice facilities. Breakfast had lots of options, and some great venues are an easy walk away.

Around 9:15 pm I was sitting quietly on the lounge sofa, with no lights on and the room empty, when the administrator came over and kept insisting I couldn't sleep there. I explained that I only wanted to stay for a couple of hours because of my situation. Less than half an hour later she came back and told me to go upstairs to my room because it wouldn't look good if someone else came into the lounge. She said she was okay with what I'd explained, but still made me leave. During the day, when I tried to have oats, the only time I'd taken food during my stay, she asked why I couldn't just go out and get something to eat. She was extremely insensitive and rude.
