The Florance

Florance is a charming, comfortable house and feels like a work of art. My partner and I had a wonderful stay. A special thank you to Kate and Toby, who were incredibly helpful when a medical emergency meant I had to cut our visit short. I’d recommend this hotel and will definitely return when I’m next in Tasmania.

The front of the house looks nice, but our room was a letdown and nothing like the description. Even though we booked ten months ahead, we got a tiny room with white walls and no window. A little light came through the frosted glass in the toilet door. The sink is in the room, not the toilet.

Breakfast was simple and fresh, with soft-boiled eggs, crusty sourdough, creamy avocado and sweet cherry tomatoes. It was really satisfying. The host was welcoming and friendly, too. I loved the peaceful, cosy feel of The Florance in Launceston. My room was warm, thoughtfully decorated and very comfortable, with little touches that made it feel like home. The house has lots of character and elegant details, and the garden is lovely, with citrus trees and neatly kept greenery. I left with fond memories and would recommend it to anyone after a unique, heartfelt stay.

The guest area was a nice place to sit and unwind, and there’s plenty of parking. The gardens are just across the road, with a perfect pub further up the street. The accommodation felt relaxed and thoughtful, and the boiled egg breakfast was served with real care and style.
