Mr. Sunny, the owner, was warm and attentive. He greeted us kindly and shared detailed sightseeing suggestions for Launceston, along with a useful map. Our room was spotless and decorated in a lovely vintage style. Guests can use the kitchen, and parking is available. The location made it easy to explore the area on foot, with the CBD close by. I highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Launceston.

The room was spotless and so cosy, and the owners were incredibly welcoming and kind. The place had a magical warmth I’ve never experienced before, like something from a Studio Ghibli film. I’m looking forward to staying again. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

The Mews Motel has a charming, slightly quirky feel, and we had a good stay. Sunny was one of the friendliest hosts we’ve met and deserves five stars on his own. The building has clearly changed over the decades, leaving an eclectic mix of architecture and décor that feels personal and homey rather than like a typical antiseptic motel. The bathroom was lovely and we slept very well. It’s well placed for dining out, and the back porch and shared kitchen make good use of an unusual space. Off-street parking was another plus. A few details could use attention. Some window sills and door edges need a deeper clean, and the porch and indoor seating area are a bit cluttered. The shared freezer is full of abandoned food and needs managing, while the kitchen suffers when guests don’t clean up after themselves. These are small issues. With a little more care there, this could easily be a five-star stay. I recommend The Mews Motel and would happily return. Thanks, Sunny, for being such a fantastic host.

There’s no TV in the bedroom, only in the lounge. The place is very old and historic, but it didn’t feel romantic to me and could use an update. I wouldn’t recommend it for a romantic weekend away. Alice's cottages are the way to go!

The man who welcomed us was so kind and accommodating, and the staff were absolutely lovely. Our room was cosy, the bed was very comfortable, and being so close to the city was great. Highly recommend.
