Waratah on York

The apartment was quiet, with lovely views over the river and paddocks, and the location was convenient. We stayed in the three-bedroom place and found it spacious, partly because of the very high ceilings. It was stylishly furnished, the lounges were comfortable, and it was toasty warm when we arrived from the cold evening. Late arrival was no problem with the lockbox check-in. It was a great price for the size, and I’d recommend it. Just keep in mind there are lots of stairs, so it may not suit anyone with mobility issues.

The heritage feel gives the hotel a lovely character, and everything was clean, cared for, and comfortable. Staff were friendly and the stay felt easy from start to finish. We had the King Suite at Waratah on York, with a bath, and it was spacious, cozy, and beautifully designed. My favorite part was the private, peaceful sitting nook beside the bath, with gorgeous city views. Sitting there with a drink and watching the city was such a relaxing way to wind down. A lovely choice in Launceston if you want comfort with a little luxury.

The staff were so helpful, keeping our bags before check-in and after checkout. The rooms have a beautiful old-fashioned style, and the beds, pillows, sheets, and towels were all comfortable, fresh, and clean. There was a good TV, heating, and electric blankets. It’s fairly close to most attractions, though the walk back is a bit steep.

The rooms and place were great. The bed was good, though I wouldn’t call it great. There are stairs to manage with luggage, which could be hard for some, but they did let us know in advance.
