Bed in a Shed

That view from the front porch is still stamped in my memory, absolutely breathtaking. The house was warm, welcoming and beautifully presented, and we loved our time there. It made a perfect first visit to South Australia for my family and me, though I only wish we’d had longer. We’ll definitely be back. The breakfast was a thoughtful inclusion, but yoghurt and granola aren’t really our family's usual picks. Some local sourdough with spreads would have suited us better and brought in a bit more local charm. Thanks for such a lovely stay.

The vineyard setting was so peaceful, and we loved the room’s rustic, quirky, creative feel. The email updates before we arrived were excellent, including letting us know we could check in earlier than expected. Late checkout was great too. A fantastic getaway, thank you.

The self-check-in was seamless, and there’s plenty to explore nearby, from wineries and towns like Mintaro to rides along the Riesling Trail. I booked two nights at The Homestead, but by the time I arrived I was already thinking about extending the stay. Set among vineyards, it’s a quiet place to unwind and reconnect with loved ones. The accommodation was spotless and well cared for, with a nice mix of rustic character and modern comfort. I’d recommend it to anyone after a peaceful break in Clare Valley. Bed in a Shed makes a lovely base for exploring the Clare Valley wineries and trying the region’s distinctive wines. I enjoyed a glass of Clare Valley’s signature Riesling on the patio, looking out over the vineyards and rolling hills. The landscape is stunning, and the whole place feels peaceful enough to forget the time for a while. Inside, the design is distinctive but still comfortable, with thoughtful details, quality furnishings and amenities. It has a cozy, homely warmth alongside a little luxury. The calm setting and understated Clare Valley charm made this a restorative escape for me. Five stars don’t quite cover it.
