Check-in was quick and easy, and the room was a good size and nicely presented. The cleaners seem to do a good job, but there were several problems during my stay. The air conditioner was noisy and barely cooled the room after an hour. Washing its filter helped a little. The fridge wasn’t cold, and the freezer had a huge amount of ice. I switched it off to defrost and used room-temperature milk to hold the freezer door open. It took over four hours to clear the ice; after turning it back on, it finally got cold. By then, after waiting, the room had cooled too. I was told to park in an area that was fenced off. There weren’t many guests, so they could lower the price to attract more people. The money lost on that could be made up at the bar. It seems better value to go overseas now. Stop looking only at the bottom line on the spreadsheet and think about the future. Is this the attitude of all the businesses in Lightning Ridge? When occupancy is low, please put guests in rooms where they can park outside and away from noisy pools. Stagger room assignments to reduce noise between rooms, and invest some time in customer service. Maybe it’s time for new management. There’s an issue here. Oh, and the beer wasn’t really cold either, possibly because of cost cutting due to low numbers. Hello...

We’ve stayed here twice with friends, in our caravan, so I can’t rate the rooms. The rates are reasonable, and the park is a short distance from the very hot, 40 degree hot springs, with town just a short drive away. The sites are large, pebbled areas, and the showers and toilets are clean. There’s a small but lovely pool.

A relaxed outback feel, clean and comfortable surroundings, and friendly, welcoming staff made this a fantastic place to stay. The facilities are good whether you’re in a cabin, caravan or tent, and it’s a great base for exploring Lightning Ridge. The park is well maintained, and I’d happily stay again.

Beautifully landscaped and wonderfully clean and comfortable, with a lovely back-to-nature feel. Simply stunning. This is our go-to spot when we’re in the area.

We booked this place for our anniversary and arrived on our Harley Davidson, hot and tired. At check-in, we felt like we were a bother. The room was a hotbox because they hadn’t turned on the air conditioning before we arrived. It barely worked and couldn’t cool the room properly. The couch was broken. When I sat down, its front edge hit the floor, so it was completely unusable. The bed rolled around whenever we tried to sit on it. The fan switch was broken and sitting on the microwave. The cutlery was in bags meant to show it was clean, but they weren’t sealed and the spoons were filthy. The TV rarely worked, and when it did, it froze, as shown in one of the photos. The internet didn’t work at all, despite what they say. The bistro was closed, which was a big reason we chose this place. We wanted to stay in after arriving, rather than go back out. Then housekeeping knocked just before 8 am to ask if we were leaving, even though we hadn’t got out of bed. They call it a resort, but I don’t know which part is supposed to be the resort. From the front desk staff, I can’t see them fixing any of this. I wouldn’t stay here again.
