Commercial Hotel Wallerawang

We decided on a whim to stop at The Commercial on the way to Mudgee, and we're glad we did. Everyone was warm, welcoming and genuinely friendly. Special thanks to Dom for finding room for us at the last minute and making it easy with a smile. That kindness made the visit memorable.

Friendly, lovely pub, a great country meal and beer served ice cold. Heaven!

The bistro meal was great, and the chef was very friendly. Our room was simple, cosy and comfortable, just as expected, with a fridge, kettle, tea and coffee. The bed was very comfortable too. Booking was easy, communication was excellent, and checkout was straightforward. A lovely hotel in a great spot for a stay.

The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, but that's about where the good part ended. A coworker and I booked two rooms while passing through. The pub looked nice and the locals were friendly. We had a couple of beers, then asked when meals stopped. Bar staff said the kitchen would be cooking for another 60 minutes. Twenty minutes later, when we went to order, we were told it had closed because it was too busy. We'd already had four beers and couldn't drive since we were staying there, so in 35° heat we had to walk to the bowls club for a meal. That was a real mess, and we won't be back. The bowls club food was great. I'd expect this sort of thing in the city, but not out in the country.
