The location is hard to beat, right across from the pink lake. We stayed in Dandelion, the biggest of the three tiny houses, and its thoughtful design made it feel anything but tiny. Christina and Michael have stocked the place with so much care, from deluxe bathroom amenities and premium kitchen utensils to an air fryer. There are board games and local area information too. You can tell they’ve gone the extra mile to make sure guests have what they need.

Mike made sure we could properly relax, taking care of everything and going well beyond what we expected. We stayed one night in the Peony tiny home with the extra package, which included dinner, a fire and a star tour. The meal was good quality, and cooking it ourselves on the hot plate was fun. We spotted lots of interesting things in the sky through the telescope, then listened to Mike's entertaining stories around the fire. The home felt surprisingly spacious and had lots of thoughtful details. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend it to friends and family. Thanks again!

The evening bonfire was a lovely way to unwind. We toasted marshmallows and chatted with the other guests while Michael looked after everything. I couldn't have asked for a more relaxing stay. We had the Peony house, with a queen bed downstairs and two futon beds in the loft. It was clean, well laid out, and had what we needed for one night or a few days. The views of the Pink lake across the road added to the peaceful feel. Michael was an outstanding host, greeting us when we arrived, providing welcome drinks, and arranging the Korean BBQ and breakfast. The Tiny house experience was fantastic, and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to try a Tiny house stay.

Waking up in bed to see the sun rising over Pink Lake was the highlight of our brilliant stay at Pink Lake Tiny Houses. The hosts went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed, and the kids loved toasting marshmallows around the camp fire.

The host was friendly, helpful and responsive, and the tiny house itself was awesome, clean and tidy. The Pink Lake is worth the drive, though I’d only recommend stopping for a few hours at most. In my view, the kindest thing would be to move the house somewhere else. The issue was its location beside the A1. We were less than 3 meters from a major highway leading into and out of Adelaide, with trucks, cars, caravans and motorcyclists going past at 100km an hour, day and night. The noise was a relentless, deafening cacophony. We couldn't have a conversation or enjoy being outdoors, and it was just as noisy inside. Complimentary earplugs from the hosts didn't stop the noise keeping us awake all night. There's a reason suburbs have noise walls beside major highways. We'd booked two nights but left after one. By then, it felt like we'd have a better chance of enjoying nature and a conversation in our own driveway. I was amazed to read that the noise hadn't bothered other guests, because for us it ruined the whole experience. I spent months saving for this stay and was disappointed to leave early. If you want a quiet getaway, this isn't the place for you. Before booking, the website and reviews had made it seem like a good base for exploring the Clare Valley and the Yorke Peninsular. I expected to follow the accommodation guide's suggestions after sightseeing: sit on the deck with snacks, stargaze, enjoy the outdoors, wake up in nature and watch the pink lake's view change. The house was charming, cool and comfortable, but the reality was nowhere near the relaxing Australian outdoor holiday I'd expected. It cost $800 for two nights. The artistically cropped photos and well-crafted website copy didn't reflect what we found, and I went from bewildered to disappointed to angry. I couldn't understand why mine seemed to be the only negative review here, and it made me question my own judgment. For us, the side of a noisy major highway wasn't a suitable place to spend the night stargazing, enjoying nature or playing board games.
