Lemonade Creek Cottages

We had a good night’s sleep in the slightly softer-than-usual bed, and the cottage was filled with birdsong from the bushes. We stayed for one night in December in one of the secluded cottages. The rooms were a good size, with country eclectic decor, and we quickly warmed the room on a cool evening. The supplied breakfast was generous, more than we could finish. The kitchen table was big enough for a 1,000-piece jigsaw.

We booked Lemonade Creek Cottages because it’s only a quick five-minute drive from Lorne, but the property itself had so much to keep us occupied that we were reluctant to leave for town. The clear saltwater pool was hard to resist, and there’s also a tennis court, basketball hoop and golf course. At dusk we saw lots of kangaroos, plus a baby koala in a tree. The birdlife is spectacular and the air fresh and clean. The owners were fantastic to deal with, and the cottages are comfortable, with care put into the details. The gardens are beautiful and expansive, making this a perfect getaway. It was the holiday my family needed. We even managed to sit down and play a board game together, which can be hard with all the electronics around. I can highly recommend Lemonade Creek Cottages.

It was great to be away from everything, even phones and internet. We enjoyed wandering around the wonderful property and gardens, then lighting the fireplace at night. Liz was super friendly and accommodating, and the place and cottages were a dream, with lovely little details. We loved our stay, miss it already, and hope to come back one day.

Fresh camelias in a big vase, quality chocolates on each pillow, and breakfast supplies including berries in the fridge were lovely touches. Soft robes were waiting in the wardrobe, and the heating was on when we arrived. Our cottage was beautiful and cosy, with wonderful attention to detail. I’d highly recommend it.
