The location was great, and we enjoyed Lorne during our two-night stay. It's a shame the service and cleanliness didn't match the spot. The receptionist was probably the rudest, most unwelcoming person I've ever met. In the downstairs bathroom, there were pubic hairs in the bath, false eyelashes stuck to the wall and what looked like blood on the wall too. When I raised it with the receptionist, all I got was “yeah ok”.

The manager was lovely and the location is good, but I wouldn't stay here again. We were in back apartment Room 6 for work, paying 450 a night, and it wasn't worth it. The back apartments don't have beach views, though the top floor is okay. The four kids' bedrooms are underneath, and the setup felt spooky and underground. They're a long way from the adults' room, and the kids' doors open across to other apartments, which felt insecure. There was no heating downstairs for the kids.
