The setting seems well suited to families and skiers stopping by the river, with an easygoing, open feel and wine that also seems to pour generously. But I wouldn't call this a traditional high winery, and I can't say much about the scenery. Our meal was the bigger problem. During a holiday rush, we ordered two pizzas and waited more than two hours. When I asked about it, I explained how long we'd been waiting and learned the kitchen hadn't received our ticket. We were number 53, while they were making number 78. They did move our order to the front, but after that sort of delay I expected some decent service or a small gesture, even just a soft drink. I'm not someone who complains or tries to get freebies, but a small business should make some effort to make up for a mistake like that. It felt like profit mattered more than customer service and reputation. The pizzas were average. The woodfire label didn't make them any better than what you'd get at a local pizza shop, and the sauces and meat options there would actually be better. At $30 each, these were pizzas I could make at home. With the food and service we experienced, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're mainly after a long family outing or a convenient stop by the river.
