Macedon Ranges Hotel & Spa

The hotel was spacious, well kept and close to everything, with comfortable beds and stunning views. We couldn't find anything to complain about during our stay. The area has beautiful scenery, charming towns, lots of wineries and restaurants, and friendly locals. There's plenty to explore, and the relaxed country feel makes it easy to unwind. Places do close a little early, but that seems part of the region's charm. A lovely spot for food, fun and scenery.

The view was lovely, and the spa was a good size for two adults, but the room needs more care. The shower leaked and had an old shower head. The bed was very hard and shifted when I tried to sit up to read or watch TV. The flat, hard pillows made for a terrible night's sleep, and our towels had holes in them. The cutlery was mismatched, with some pieces slightly bent, and there were no instructions for using the gas heater.

The views were fantastic, but they couldn't make up for how disappointing the stay was. The restaurant was closed, despite being listed on booking sites, and there was no food at all, not even continental breakfast. We paid over $400 a night. The pool and hot tub were stained and dirty, the day spa was closed and operating out of a hotel room, and the furniture was old and worn. The room heating didn't work, so they supplied a portable heater. There was no internet or Wi-Fi either. We cancelled the second night, and our long weekend was ruined. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The room was filthy, and I won't be coming back. We booked a standard king room for two, but there were only two towels, no robes or soap, and the sheets didn't look properly made. The tap water was dirty too. The in-room spa was awful. Filthy stuff came out of the jets, so we couldn't use it. I tried the after-hours number on the door, but they still haven't got back to me. I want a refund. This used to be a nice place to stay, but stay away now.
