We stopped overnight during a big move from Melbourne to Townsville. The owner and staff were very friendly and accommodating, and insisted that we park our trailer off the street. For the price, the accommodation was very clean and comfortable, with a clean private bathroom and a new split system. There was plenty of undercover parking for cars. Best place we stayed on the whole trip.

Mackay Motor Inn is a great option if you want a comfortable bed and clean room at a very reasonable price. I've stayed many times, and the service has always been exemplary and the rooms faultless. They look after you when you book direct, especially if you're a returning customer. Naomi is great to deal with, and nothing is ever too much trouble. Shamrock Hotel is a short walk up Nebo Road, with great food, gaming and happy hour pricing. Highly recommend.

The staff were helpful and welcoming, and the room was clean and comfortable. We spent two nights here, and it made for an easy, no-fuss holiday stay.

The rooms were disgusting, and the management came across as rude and arrogant. Don’t book here. Save your money and stay somewhere else.

My dad and I were in Mackay to visit my older brothers, who came by our hotel one evening. We sat outside on the chairs, eating pizza and talking quietly so we wouldn’t disturb anyone else. Around 9-10, we all went in to take family photos. The manager came to our room without introducing herself and rudely told us there were too many people and that we would have to leave if my brothers didn’t go. We explained they weren’t staying overnight and would be leaving soon, but she kept being rude. When we asked who she was, she said she was the manager and we should know that. Dad and I were very disappointed with the way she treated us, and we won’t stay there again.
