Tropic Coast Motel

Great value for a motel. The rooms are very clean, the bed is comfy, and the showers have plenty of hot water. There’s ample parking right in front of your room. The staff are wonderful, and I’ll definitely come back when travelling through Mackay. Well done.

Mel & Brett were lovely and got us booked in straight away for the week. We’d driven from Sydney to Mackay to visit family for Christmas and New Years, but couldn’t stay with my in-laws. With it being so last minute, we couldn’t find a vacancy until we called Tropic Coast Motel. We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are clean and tidy, the kids loved the pool and play equipment, and the BBQ area looks right onto the pool. There’s parking in front of the room and laundry facilities too. Such a pleasure staying here. Back to The Shire we go 😊 Happy New Year to the amazing staff at Tropic Coast Motel. The Pollards

I needed somewhere to stay for two nights at short notice while in Mackay in emergent circumstances. It’s a modest hotel, but the room was very clean and had lots of thoughtful details. The lock on the first room wasn’t working properly, so they immediately moved me to another and helped me in, checking that everything was okay. I was extremely pleased with the room and service, and grateful for how friendly and concerned the hosts were.

The room was clean and spacious, and being set back from the road meant it was relatively quiet. We were welcomed warmly when we checked in. It’s a shame the restaurant is no longer there, but there are plenty of other options nearby, so it wasn’t a major issue. I was happy with the stay and would come again.
