McCarthy Lake House

The lake is beautiful to walk around, and we were lucky enough to see a platypus and a goose family. Jasper often wanders around too, and is great company if you like cats. I stayed here with the girls the night before my wedding. The owner was amazing and showed us the garden and chickens. The house was beautiful and relaxed, and perfectly located for getting ready for our Maleny Manor wedding. Thank you, we'll be back for a third stay!

We had a short, laid-back getaway in a quiet place. Our ensuite room at the end of the building felt very private. Another couple was staying there too, and though we shared the kitchen, dining and lounge areas, they were friendly and we rarely crossed paths. The pool was warm, and the kitchen was well equipped with tea, coffee, milk, a Nespresso machine and plenty of pods. Melany is a five-minute drive away, with lots of other local things to do. We had a tasty dinner at Landsborough hotel one night. Sadly, no platypus sightings, though I was hoping to spot one. Thanks, Jennifer!

Jennifer is lovely and made us feel relaxed from day one. My husband and I come back regularly, and this is the only place we stay in the area. The house is spacious, clean and bright, with comfy beds and lovely lake views. The pool is refreshing on a hot day. Highly recommend.

Jennifer is a friendly, caring host who makes us feel really welcome, so we'll keep staying at McCarthy Lake House. The accommodation is comfortable, clean and homely, surrounded by lovely greenery and plenty of birdlife. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay!
