Abode Hotel Malua Bay

The bed wasn’t comfortable, and the bathroom felt cramped next to the very large, apartment-style room. The shower was especially tiny and had no door, so water made a mess. Staff were friendly, attentive and knew their stuff. The location is fantastic for families, with a park and beach just across the road. We even spotted whales.

The view over Malua bay beach was beautiful whenever the rain let up. We stayed two nights, and the room was so huge my partner and I joked we could live there as a studio apartment. I arranged to have rose petals sent to the Malua bay post office as a surprise for my partner. The staff picked them up for me and spelled “I love you” on the bed before we arrived. Such an amazing experience, and I can’t thank them enough. One of the nicest places I’ve stayed. I’d definitely return.

The rooms are spacious, the bed is comfortable, and the hotel is pet friendly. The location is great, only a few metres from the beach and a park that’s good for dogs and kids. The staff were very nice, except for the woman who sells coffee, who was extremely unpleasant. She isn’t employed by the hotel. Cleanliness was the reason for my four stars. We had to put nearly all the dishes through the dishwasher because they’d been washed poorly. The kitchen doors and windows were dirty too, and there was grime between the fridge and wall, as shown in the picture. A pity for such a good hotel. The cleaners should be more thorough.

The bed was super comfortable. We had a large, modern room with a kitchen, washing machine and dryer, in a perfect spot overlooking the beach.
