The food was so good, with four top-notch meals and plenty of choice. We could eat indoors or outside, and the staff were all friendly, helpful and amazing. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. We spent two nights at this brilliant, quaint pub and were surprised by how much there is to see and do nearby. There are great motorcycle roads too, for a trip we might not otherwise have thought of. We’d definitely stay again and again. Keep up the great work, everyone, you’re stars. Steve and Trish

Kellie and the staff were super accommodating and went above and beyond to help us organise an event for more than 60 people. Booking all the rooms was easy, so our travelling friends and family could stay.

Catherine knows how to cook a steak. All our meals were fabulous, and the pub rooms were lovely with very clean bathrooms. We spent four nights there, and Simon, the licensee, was very accommodating. He let us leave our motorbikes across the road at The Storybank, which he runs, in a locked garage. Kristen and Craig, who caretake The Storybank and ride motorbikes too, were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us.

The beds were comfortable and the linen crisp, fresh and clean. Staff were cheerful, obliging and helpful, and supplied a jug and cups for making tea. I booked two nights at Royal Hotel Mandurama for $100 each. The first was in a Queen room with little space around the bed and a shared bathroom. On a 33 degree day, the room on the Western side was hot. Opening the window brought a breeze but also mosquitoes, and there were no insect screens, so I had to shut it again. No water or glasses were provided, though staff were helpful when I asked. There’s no breakfast service, and options in the small village are limited. The second night I had a spacious King room with an ensuite. Again, there was no water. The bathroom light didn’t work until I asked for it to be fixed, and the bedside light on one side wasn’t working. There was a TV, but no channels were available, just a constant message about little or no signal and checking the connection and aerial. The windows had no screens either, and this is mossie country!

The open fire made the place warm and cosy, and the food was delicious. Service was faultless. What a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Highly recommend a visit to The Royal, from Kim & Fiona.
