This was an awful experience and nothing like the promotion. It felt like one- or two-star fruit pickers’ accommodation, definitely not three-star. Please look at the bathroom photo before booking. Staff were hard to find, left me waiting, and didn’t come back. I also waited 45 minutes to get milk that wasn’t in my room fridge.

Stay well away from this place. I booked and paid for a room six months ahead for two nights, as I was maid of honour at my best friend’s nearby wedding. When we arrived, it took about 20 minutes to find staff. Then we were told my room and my friend’s room weren’t available. The staff member said they had no rooms for us, disappeared for about 20 minutes, and later said this had never happened before. He assured us I’d get a refund, but two months later I still haven’t received it. None of my many calls, voicemails, or emails have gone unanswered. I paid $352 for a room I never got, with no apology or refund.

The bedroom looked recently renovated and was clean, with a comfortable bed and good, thick towels. Soundproofing from the pub below was good too. The small oil heater couldn’t warm the room enough, and it took all night to heat up. The bathroom needs attention: the tired lino and mouldy silastic need fixing, though the room was otherwise clean.

If you’re unlucky enough to get a room right above the pub, expect loud music and drum and bass vibrating through the room until 10pm on a Tuesday. I wish I were joking. Not worth the headache. Look elsewhere.
