The park is only about a five-minute walk from the Main Street pubs, bakeries and shops. It’s in great shape, with some areas rebuilt after the floods, and the staff are friendly. Everything was clean and well appointed. The ferry is right nearby, though, so it can get loud if you’re close to the water.

We wanted somewhere relaxing with water views, and this park was just right. The grounds and amenities are well cared for, and we got a lovely welcome at reception. Even the local ducks wandered over to say hello.

I’m glad this holiday park welcomes pets, because travelling with a dog can be hard. It was our first holiday park stay and we had a great time. My dog loved it and couldn’t stop smiling! The room was new, clean, and had everything we needed.

This used to be a place we loved staying in the cabins, and it’s my husband’s happy place. After his 12-hour surgery and six weeks of intense radiation therapy, I booked a four-day getaway as a treat for him. He’d also been very sick over the past six months. When he wasn’t well enough to leave on the day we were due to go, I called to ask about changing the dates. They strictly said no. It was really disappointing after staying here so many times. A little empathy would have meant a lot. We won’t be using Big 4 again.

The river location and grassy areas are lovely, but I had a frustrating week here with my caravan. The gravel sites are terrible, especially when it’s often windy, and there wasn’t enough room for my van, awning, and car. The sprinklers also came on at 8:20am and soaked me and my breakfast. Good spot, but there are better parks around.
