Although the location is excellent, our stay didn’t meet expectations. We were meant to stay from 18 December to 27 December, but after we’d waited to give Jenny a chance to respond, she still hadn’t followed up or even acknowledged what happened. She’d arranged the booking, taken our deposit, sent a confirmation email, and received our flight details beforehand, so we believed everything was set. When we arrived, reception was empty. We called the after-hours number, and Robin, a very kind woman who had nothing to do with the problem, told us our booking wasn’t in the system and there was no availability. At that time of year, it was extremely stressful and disappointing. We appreciate Robin arranging another place across the road at Coral Sea Apartments, where John, the manager, was helpful. But we could only stay there until the 23rd, so we had to find somewhere else during Christmas. Jenny didn’t assist with fixing the booking or finding us a longer-term option. Some help, or even a simple acknowledgment of the situation she’d put us in, would have meant a lot.

The gate at unit 1 on the ground floor had no lock. Inside, the towels were stained, the fridge shelves hadn’t been wiped, and the microwave had finger and handprints on it. The toilet rims were black, the cushions looked like they hadn’t been washed in a long time, the washing machine soap dispenser was filthy, and there were mildew patches in the ensuite shower. People upstairs also flicked cigarette butts onto the lawn. We took before-and-after photos. If there’s any deduction from our credit card, we’ll have huge recourse.

The location is nice, but the service and cleanliness were definitely below standard. There were fingerprints on the walls, and the dishwasher had a major leak. When my partner took out the bin, the manager stopped him and questioned him like an officer. Very odd!

There were wet towels left in the washing machine from someone before us, yet we were charged an extra cleaning fee. The apartment itself was dusty and mouldy, and the couches were so unclean that we had to vacuum them. What a joke. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place. Never again.

I found Jenny, the reception lady, unhelpful, strange, and rude. The rooms were dirty and had an unpleasant smell, with cleanliness well below standard. Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing stay and wouldn’t recommend this place.
