We set off early, around 7-8am, and saw multiple crocodiles on the way out. There weren't as many on the return trip later in the day. We also spotted several bird species and water buffalo. We hired a boat and invited a bunch of friends along for a croc search and wildlife cruise. I'd recommend it and would do it again.

The owners were lovely and informative, and the boat was really easy to handle. It was such a beautiful place, with a magic night sky. Great for couples or a group of friends, and overall an amazing thing to do in Darwin. My one gripe was the cleanliness. At $690 for the night, the boat needs a proper clean. I understand the houseboats are old, but they let the place down. They should also provide mozzie zappers or coils for outside.

I still have unforgettable memories of staying at the caravan park in 2008 or 2009, when I was travelling by pushbike. We went cruising on the river with a great guy, and saw crocodiles. At night I spotted croc eyes, which was scary but fascinating.

We went for a night in September 2021 with a party of eight others, and it worked out perfectly. The boat was easy to drive and steer, and we all slept fine. We spotted plenty of crocs along with different plants and wildlife on the way. Great houseboats, quality service, and a good choice for a party or bringing your mates along.

The owner was really friendly and informative, and we enjoyed fishing. We only saw a couple of crocs, but after dark the billabong came alive with jumping fish and crocs, and the bugs came out too, so zip up well before nightfall. We brought our own drinks, snacks, and BBQ food, and had a nice evening. It's a fair drive out from Darwin, though the scenery makes up for it. For $640 a night, the fridge could be better and the houseboat could have been cleaned more thoroughly. There were spiders all over the windows, which nanna didn't like. Cleanliness cost it a star. I know it's a houseboat, but that still matters. The hot water was another disappointment: one person got a five-minute shower, then there was none left, and the boys were smelly from fishing. That's why I took off another star. A genuine three-star review, Darwin style.
