Huntsville Caravan Park

The host was really nice, and the facilities were clean. We stayed on an unpowered campervan site.

We packed up and left at 3am after locals came through at 2:20am, screaming blue murder and shining torches around and into our tent. The police refused to do anything, saying the person had mental health issues. The site feels completely open to anyone, with facilities left unlocked all night and no codes or door locks. The power was supplied by an extension cord draped over the fence. We also had to be escorted to our site because they don’t use maps or modern methods. There’s no real safety setup here, and it needs updating.

The owners are helpful, easy-going and always remember your name. It’s a lovely, well looked after place with clean amenities. I’d definitely stay again.

The park felt cramped and unsafe, with uneven ground and broken concrete. The amenities were old and dirty, and several permanent residents seemed dodgy to us, so we didn’t feel safe. The man was rude, condescending and sexist. He kept yelling at my husband while he was trying to park the van, then told me to get my husband’s lunch. After he overheard us saying how unhappy we were, he asked us to leave. He did refund our money, but only after a discussion. We’re travelling around Australia and have never had an issue like this or met such a disgusting manager. Avoid this place.
